Harvest Tour 2009Going right to the source

Saturday, September 26th, from 10am-4:30pm farms around King County will open their barn doors to welcome visitors of all ages and interests. The annual Harvest Celebration Farm Tour provides an opportunity for adults and children alike, to get to know more about local agriculture and experience the rich history of farming in our area. Participants can talk to farmers, walk their fields, enjoy family hay rides and eat fresh produce right from the field! Several of the county’s best examples of historic farmsteads will be participating this year, including Hjertoos, Dougherty and Serres farms. (All three of which are featured in 4Culture’s Destination Heritage guides.) For more information about the tour, incuding a list of participating farms, visit the WSU King County Extensions program events page.
