As part of a national tour for Arts in Crisis: A Kennedy Center Initiative, Kennedy Center President Michael M. Kaiser will visit Washington state August 20 – 21 to conduct free arts leadership symposia in Seattle and Tacoma.

Hosted by ArtsEd Washington, these free symposia will help all of us – arts organization staff, trustees, volunteers, funders, arts education leaders, and more – to make the case for the relevance and continued existence of arts organizations in Washington state. In other words, why arts and why now?

Each symposia will feature opening remarks from Congressman Norm Dicks (WA-6) and a 90-minute conversation with Michael Kaiser, and will conclude with a 30-minute meet-and-greet session.

The Seattle symposia is Thursday, August 20, 10am – 12pm, at Benaroya Hall (200 University Street). The Tacoma symposia is Friday, August 21, 9 – 11am, at the Broadway Center for the Performing Arts (901 Broadway).

Registration is free. Light refreshments will be provided. Please register in advance for Seattle or Tacoma. For more information, please visit artsedwashington.org/artsincrisis or call 206.441.4501.
