Public Art has been busy moving artwork in preparation for possible flooding in South County, predicted over the next few years.
This week, curator Esther Luttikhuizen and Collection maintenance assistant Bill Whipple removed all the artwork in the Elections Building, the first floor of the Department of Development and Environmental services, and the Hearing Examiner’s Courtroom. Over the next month we will be working in facilities housing Medic One, the Auburn Clinic and the Environmental Health Department, as well as removing works in the library and the first floor of the Regional Justice Center.
We are working to protect the artwork in the Collection while maintaining the visually rich environment County residents and workers have come to rely on through the artwork in our shared public spaces.
