I’m sure many of you have attended a benefit concert for an ailing musician or sent a few dollars to a band who had their equipment stolen. If you’ve ever wondered if there is an organization that steps in during critical times – there is. MusiCares helps support musicians in emergency situations. I can say from personal experience, they rock!

On Saturday, September 19th, 2009 nine of Seattle’s music venues will be doing their part to support the musicians who perform on their stages. “Seattle Cares For MusiCares,” is being held to raise funds for the MusiCares Foundation, a charitable organization that provides a safety net of critical assistance for music people in times of need.

Each participating venue will donate a portion of the evening’s ticket sales to the MusiCares Foundation. The participating venues include Chop Suey, The Crocodile, Tractor Tavern, Sunset Tavern, Jazz Alley, Comet Tavern, Highway 99 Blues Club, The Triple Door, & Tula’s.
