Executive Director

The Bellevue Philharmonic Orchestra’s (BPO) mission is to excite, enrich and entertain, through live orchestral music, all generations and communities on the Greater Eastside. The Executive Director reports to the Board of Directors and is responsible for the organization’s consistent high-quality execution of its mission, goals and objectives. The Executive Director will represent BPO’s programs and initiatives to donors, media, staff, board, and the community and move BPO forward in implementing the internal and external objectives related to the organization’s mission. In addition, the Executive Director will focus on developing the internal structure and budget to support future growth.

This part-time position is a unique opportunity for an individual committed to bringing live orchestral music to our community, and eager to promote BPO in the communities we serve and beyond.

 


 

Qualifications
• Commitment to BPO’s program and goals
• Experience in community partnerships and collaborations
• Ability to work with a board and staff in articulating and refining strategy
• Self-directed, energetic, creative, supportive leader, collaborator, and facilitator
• Minimum 5 years’ management experience, with strong understanding of the nonprofit sector (fundraising, nonprofit fiscal management, and budget preparation) and working and partnering with boards of directors
• Demonstrated experience in fundraising (including understanding of and connections to funding communities), nonprofit fiscal management, budget preparation
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to represent BPO in community and experience in publicity campaigns
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a small, collaborative team environment
• Experience working with boards of directors and community-based organizations
• Ability to effectively use office technology and function in a self-sufficient office culture
• Commitment to engaging and working with volunteers and clients from a variety of communities and backgrounds
• Knowledge of classical music a plus

 

Salary: $44,000-48,000 per year DOE.
