Artist: Photography
Department of Fine Arts
Tenure-track assistant professor beginning August 16, 2010. Seeking artist working in photography, interested in interconnections across the curriculum with other fine arts faculty. Teach four courses annually, plus tutorial hours across fine arts disciplines with MFA students. Serve as photography area coordinator. Other responsibilities include undergraduate mentoring and service to the department and university. MFA degree at time of application, and a dedicated artistic practice in which photography is integral required. Artists using photography and other media for development or creation of photo, installation or multimedia-based work preferred. Demonstrated ability to teach photography or related courses at the university level, including traditional b&w, digital, and alternative processes, evidence of building a professional practice that includes strong exhibition record, knowledge of the history and current theory related to photography, and a dedicated cross-disciplinary approach to art practice preferred. Interest in teaching in other fine arts areas a plus. Send letter of application, teaching philosophy, CV, list of three references (letters possible later upon request), artist statement, 20 examples personal work/15 student work on CD or DVD. Portland Art Museum
Curator of Photography

Under the leadership of the Chief Curator the Curator of Photography is responsible for the care, research, exhibition, growth and custody of all objects in the photography art collection belonging to or on loan to the Portland Art Museum. Essential functions include: conducting ongoing research on the Museum’s photography collections; making recommendations for object acquisition and deaccession; and developing exhibitions and installations from the Museum’s permanent collection.

Successful applicants will have a M.A. in Art History or Museum Studies, and 5 years of related work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience; wide knowledge of history of photography and familiarity with photographic techniques, care of photographs, cataloging, and collection storage issues; and exceptional interpersonal skills, able to quickly develop rapport, as well as build and maintain effective long term relationships with staff, colleagues, volunteers, docents, and the Photography Community. Theater Schmeater
Artistic Director

Theater Schmeater, one of Seattle’s leading fringe theaters, seeks a volunteer Artistic Director to be an unwavering champion for one of Seattle’s oldest and most respected Fringe Theaters. The Artistic Director will work with the Managing Director starting with the 2010 season to coordinate all aspects of Theater Schmeater. The theatrical season is made up of seven irreverent productions – six mainstage plays (including the perennial favorite Twilight Zone mainstage production) and a free summer park show. The Artistic Director’s duties will also include selection of directors and guest designers, casting, community relations, and naming the happy hour special drink. Since Theater Schmeater is a mostly-volunteer effort, each team member spends time at the theater and works hands-on to care for the space. Bellevue Youth Symphony Orchestra (BYSO)
Part-time Administrative Assistant to Executive Director

BYSO creates opportunities to discover the joy of making music, provides a full orchestral program, promotes personal responsibility and fosters educational excellence, enriching our communities. The Administrative Assistant handles the day-to-day organization of office staff and personnel. These duties include storing, retrieving and integrating information pertinent to the production of the orchestra. The Adm. Assistant is the first point of contact between the customer and the business. The Administrative Assistant is instrumental in planning and scheduling meetings and appointments, organizing and maintaining paper and electronic files; they manage projects and utilize communication devices such as the telephone, mail, the Internet and e-mail.
