Seyed Alavi has been selected to create an integrated artwork for the 500-square-foot stairway landing above the main reception area in Harborview Medical Center. The Landing is at the intersection of the new Trauma Center completed in 1997 and the old hospital building and is a pivotal crossroads for patients and their families as they move between major service areas within the hospital.
Alavi’s artwork will assist in creating better wayfinding within the hospital. The artist brings experience in creating art for a healing environment to the project as well as an elegant design sensibility.
