Deadline April 19, 2010
Humanities Washington is accepting applications from individuals interested in serving on its statewide speakers bureau, Inquiring Mind.
Of particular interest for the 2010-2011 season are dynamic individuals whose presentations explore the stories, ideas and questions of importance to the people of Washington State. Presentations should offer information that encourages dialogue, and gives audience members an opportunity to learn from past events, better understand the present, or inform the future.
Past speakers have included scholars, artists, authors, musicians, and historians. Topics for the 2010-2011 season will be loosely organized in the areas of local/state/national history; the environment; cultures of the region and world (including popular culture); diversity; and healthy communities.
Speakers receive an honorarium of $300/presentation and will be reimbursed for travel costs.
