Peter Nelson’s current project Parents, is a video and performance piece that explores the complexities of a 35-year relationship. In Parents, Nelson’s mom and dad speak about falling in love, overcoming personality struggles, and negotiating compromises to make their marriage work. Donning papier mâché heads and hands, Nelson and his wife reenact this vulnerable dialogue on film. This project is supported in part by 4Culture’s Individual Artist Projects program.

This performance features all dance works created by Li HengDa for dancers of all ages. Principal dancers from the Hong Kong Dance Company including Chen Jun and Su Shu and Le Yin and Mara Vinson of the Pacific Northwest Ballet will both be featured in this cultural mixture of Ballet and Chinese dance works created by Hengda Li. This project is supported in part by 4Culture’s Individual Artist Projects program.

Experience the rich culture, the festive spirit, and the warmth of the people of India at Ananda Mela. Learn how to drape the traditional attire of India- the sari; Savor cuisine from India and enjoy performances by traditional folk dancers. The very popular, Vancouver-based Delhi 2 Dublin will play their blend of world music and electronica, keeping it heavy on the Bhangra, Dub and Celtic flavors. This festival is supported by the Redmond Arts Commission, a recipient of 4Culture’s Sustained Support program.
