Peter Nelson writes, “Seattle identifies itself as a “green” city. Residents have a reputation of being environmentally progressive, and government and businesses tout sustainable practices. I also identify myself as environmentally responsible. Yet I produce a lot of garbage. I drive a car. I don’t buy locally grown foods and responsibly made products as often as I could.

Truthfully, I don’t regularly consider my consumptive behaviors, let alone the consequences of my actions. Instead of blindly accepting the stereotype of a Seattle “green” lifestyle (and assuming that it applies to everyone), I interviewed King County residents to explore this topic further.

The results of these conversations have led to new and experimental projects, including a pop music video celebrating my inappropriate love affair with oil and manipulated interviews exploring the complacency of young people in the face of impending environmental crises. “

UPDATE 7/27/10 – we just swapped out the rough cut with the final cut! Enjoy.
