Nineteen projects were funded this year through 4Culture’s Heritage Collections Care program, providing $52,500 for countywide projects for the third year in a row. The program was inaugurated in 2008 to address critical needs for preservation of local heritage collections. Priority is given to basic collections issues, and support for needs assessments and implementation of resulting recommendations.

Redmond Historical Society was awarded funding to address it photograph and manuscript collections needs, while Fall City Historical Society is planning on enlarging its digital collection catalogue. Several projects address increased access to collection information via the Internet, which is good news for researchers and the general public. Funded projects will leverage over $75,000 for local heritage collections and public access to heritage resources in the upcoming year.
