Denny Cabin Restoration Video

With a funding award from Heritage Cultural Facilities, the Historical Society of Federal Way is restoring an 1889 two-story log cabin originally built as a real estate office for Seattle pioneer David Denny. The story of the structure and its 1966 move from the foot of Queen Anne Hill to Federal Way is recounted at federalwayhistory.org/Articles. Click on “Denny Cabin.”

The current project includes log restoration and replacement, which is documented in a short video featured in a Federal Way Mirror online editorial. To view the video, click on the image above. Next steps in the project include finishing seven window and door openings. Scheduled to be completed this fall, the Denny Cabin will provide space for interpretation, presentations and student field trips.
