Book-It plays Saar Pioneer Cemetery
July 16 & 17, 2011
1:30pm and 3:30pm
Book-It Repertory Theatre, in collaboration with the South King County Genealogical Society, presents Voices of Kent’s Pioneers, a Heritage and Site-Specific historical performance at Saar Pioneer Cemetery. Adapted by Rachel Atkins, this performance features characters whose stories are taken from those buried in the Saar Pioneer Cemetery.
Radar Zombie alert: the South King County Genealogical Society will shortly complete a ground-penetrating radar survey of the Saar Pioneer Cemetery in hopes of recovering unmarked graves and creating a map of the entire cemetery – more to come in future enews.

Book-it! is great. We’ve been surprised and impressed by their full fledged staged shows, when you hear “fiction brought to the stage” you may expect actors reading their text, but no, Book-it! creates the whole thing, sets, props, costumes and all. And now they’re bringing characters to live on the cemetery? Wowser and Woot! Seems like a perfect place for a picnic (bring bumbershoots that can double as parasols)!

Let’s make that “bring characters ‘to life’”, let sleeping dogs and dead people be is my credo.
