Seattle Public Library, Main Branch
Saturday, September 17, 10:30 am to 12:00 noon
Join 4Culture in celebrating an extraordinary union of art, design, science, ecology, engineering and community as Brightwater Treatment Plant opens Saturday, September 24, 2011 9:00 am to 4:00 pm with Tribal blessings, artwork and plant tours, musical performances, food and hands-on activities.
Planned and built over the last 15 years, Brightwater serves the region with state-of-the-art wastewater treatment that is housed in a beautifully restored and constructed landscape of native plants, salmon spawning waters and public amenities. 4Culture is very proud and excited to present artwork by ten remarkable artists that expresses the science and poetry of the lifecycle of water and the treatment plant itself.
We are pleased to be a partner of the Seattle Design Festival. The Seattle Design Festival is the first-ever celebration in Seattle of the transformative power of design. The 10-day series of events will go beneath the surface of what we believe design to be and illustrate the ways design adds value to our lives, our city, and our region. As part of the Festival AIA Seattle and 4Culture will present a lecture by the Brightwater Design team on Saturday, September 17 from 10:30 – noon at the Seattle Public Library, Main Branch.
