Eckstein Middle School has been working on the Fundred Dollar Bill Project, a hands-on art project to advocate for funding to clean up polluted soils in New Orleans. Hurricane Katrina’s flooding left a legacy of contamination that is affecting the health of children and adults living in the city. The project invites citizens to create an image of a dollar bill. These “fundreds” will be collected and taken to Washington D.C. to be offered in exchange for actual funding for cleanup. Eckstein Middle School will host a pick up: the special armored car pictured here will make a call.
